Terms

A calm agreement.

These terms govern your use of the current Karo web app. By using Karo, you agree to them.

Last updated 9 August 2026

What Karo is

Karo is a productivity and general wellbeing tool for focus sessions, queues, notes, small utilities, breaks, movement prompts, breathing guidance, and drink logging. Features may change as the product develops.

Local plugins

Karo can run JavaScript plugin files that you choose to import. Review plugin code and trust its source before installing it. You are responsible for plugins you create, import, or share, and must not use the plugin system to distribute harmful or unlawful code.

Health guidance

Karo is not a medical device, healthcare service, diagnosis, or treatment. Its movement, breathing, hydration, sleep, and wellbeing content is general information only. Use a comfortable range, stop if you feel pain, dizziness, numbness, breathlessness, or other concerning symptoms, and seek appropriate professional help when needed.

Do not use Karo instead of urgent or emergency care.

Your data and backups

The current app stores your workspace locally. You are responsible for your device, browser profile, and any backup files you create. Clearing browser data or uninstalling Karo may permanently remove information that has not been exported.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse Karo, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, distribute harmful code through it, or use it in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.

Ownership

Karo, its interface, mascot, code, writing, and brand assets remain the property of their respective owners and licensors. These terms give you permission to use the app; they do not transfer ownership of it. You retain ownership of the content you enter.

Availability and responsibility

Karo is provided as available. We aim to keep it useful and reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted operation or that every reminder will arrive. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Karo is not responsible for indirect loss arising from use of the app, missed reminders, or loss of locally stored data.

Nothing in these terms excludes a right or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms when Karo changes. The updated date above shows when they were revised. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights that apply where you live.
